About the Club
One of, if not the oldest bass fishing club in Southern California. All ages, all skill levels — if you love tournament bass fishing, OCBC wants you.
Who we are & how we got started
The club is a diverse group of people who share a love for bass fishing. Encompassing a wide range of ages, Orange County Bass Club is filled with passionate anglers who love to compete. We also strive to create a family-friendly environment, and encourage young anglers to join our ranks. OCBC members include some of the most successful anglers to ever fish the SoCal tournament scene, and learning opportunities abound for up-and-coming anglers with a desire to fish competitively.
Where & when
Orange County Bass Club fishes 11 tournaments per calendar year. Within this schedule, there are typically 3–4 travel tournaments that are two days in duration. Ten tournaments comprise the season, and there is a Tournament of Champions (TOC) held after the end of the season. Most one-day tournaments are within 3 hours of Orange County, while any fisheries a little farther typically become two-day destinations. Once a year, the club runs a Friday/Saturday travel event north of San Francisco.
The TOC is an entry-free championship for the Top 10 anglers in the club by annual points. Any angler who wins a regular-season tournament also qualifies for TOC regardless of their points standing, so long as they participate in a set number of monthly club meetings.
Have boat, will travel
Located in the heart of Southern California, Orange County Bass Club is privy to some of the most diverse bass fisheries in the nation. Several of the waters frequented by the club have been listed in Bassmaster's Top 100, including Lake Havasu and Clear Lake. From famed largemouth fisheries of Southern California, east to the desert lakes of the Colorado River, and north to the land of giant largemouth and trophy spotted bass — OCBC will probably make a visit there soon.
